05Method

Measurement and calculation.

Measuring point. A server outside the data centre requests the same addresses as your browser every minute. There is one measuring point (Frankfurt am Main (UpCloud)).
Outage. A service counts as down when two measurements in a row fail. A single failure is not counted.
Missing measurements. A service without a current measurement is shown in grey and not counted as available.
Incident notices. Notices are written by us. They can rate a service worse than the measurement, not better.
Calculation. Availability = measured minutes without an outage ÷ measured minutes. Partial and full outages count as unavailable, degraded as available. Unmeasured minutes and maintenance announced in advance are not counted; the measurement coverage is shown alongside.
Scope. The availability commitment in section 6 of our terms applies per instance. This page shows the overall state of all instances and names no individual customers.
